The History of Air Purifiers

But the history of the air purifiers is actually quite interesting and shows just how far these items have come in the more recent years.
Air purifiers were first originally used in the early 1800s to help firefighters to enter burning buildings in as safe a manner as possible. This quickly expanded to creating a device that assisted coal miners with doing their jobs properly while also keeping them safe in such hazardous conditions.
While these were both mostly public uses, the next purifier was actually classified as top secret. These purifiers were among the first HEPA air filters and originally introduced in the mid 1900s. When these devices were made public, they became very popular and eventually led to residential air purifiers hitting the market in 1971.
Although the beginning use of air purifiers was more business oriented, its potential use for the public was easy to see. The concern about the quality of the air is something that everyone is concerned about and purifiers are one way to help with this particular issue and concern.
The Different Purification Techniques
While the whole purpose of air purification and what it is meant to do is mostly the same for all air purifiers, there are many different techniques that can be used. Each technique offers different benefits and advantages and should be given serious consideration from those interested in purchasing an air purifier.
When using a smoke air purifier in the home you should know four main types of purification techniques. These different techniques include PhotoPlasma Technology, Thermodynamic Sterilization (TSS), Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation and Filter. Of the four, the filter technique is the most well known by the general public.
PhotoPlasma Technology works to capture various air pollutants and then convert the pollutant into CO2 and H2O. These air pollutants can include odors as well as bacteria, mold, smoke and many other impurities. Thermodynamic Sterilization (TSS) uses heat sterilization to do its job properly. The heat is said to destroy any harmful properties within the air before the air is cooled and then released.
Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation is completely unique. This method utilizes UV lamps as part of the purification method. The final method of purification is the most common. The filter technique traps anything in the air that is above a specific size. This method removes at least 99% of the particles that pass through this system.
Each technique is efficient and they each have their uses. The method that will work best for your case completely dependent upon what you want and need to get out of an air purifier.
